Being a college student is never easy. Your hectic schedule won’t allow for a sneak peak to see if Rachel and Finn have gotten back together in Glee. You no longer have the free time to post a reply to every wall post that your high school friends made. Your professors seem to have a certain liking in quizzes and exams. Various deadlines are also set for numerous papers. This is the time wherein your stress levels are building up. College is the final step before entering the business world. This is your practice towards the real life waiting outside the university. Lack of sleep and tiredness may be hindrances in achieving high grades but there are ways to help you study better. First is to set the mood. Avoid studying in your bed. Your bed is a warm and comfortable place to sleep and this might be a distraction. Don’t lie down while studying. Sit up straight in a comfortable chair and place your books in a table. Be sure to also have proper lighting while studying. Second step is to break your lessons down. If you have multiple chapters to study start with the chapter which you find hardest. This principle also applies to your homework. You can use index cards to write down some important details that you wish to remember. Try making an outline of the lesson based on your understanding and in your own words. Third step and probably the most helpful is to take a rest in between studying. If you have been sitting straight for an hour or two, take a good break for 10 to 15 minutes. Stretch or walk around to keep your senses active. You can also try taking a power nap. This 15-minute nap is highly effective. Last step is to motivate yourself. Think of the exam that you want to ace. After a tiring week, treat yourself to your favorite pastry or buy a new pair of shoes. Reward yourself for a job well done for the entire week. Education is important. Your parents work hard to be able to enroll you in a trusted university. They might not say it outright but they have big dreams for you. They want you to be successful and to be able to stand on your own feet. Grab this opportunity and learn as much as you can. Education should be given to all the children living in this world but not everyone can afford it. Be thankful because you are one of those who are lucky enough to go to college. Don’t waste this chance to be someone, someday. You can talk about...
